Canadian Language Sector Enhancement Program (CLSEP)

Funded Projects

The objectives of the Canadian Language Sector Enhancement Program are to :

  • Provide support for the development of a skilled labour force
  • Strenghten the capacity of the Canadian language sector

The Program has two Components:

University Scholarships in Translation Component

The University Scholarships in Translation Component is intended to enable eligible post-secondary institutions to attract, retain, and graduate new translators and interpreters by encouraging students to pursue careers in these fields

Another objective is to attract students who are already registered in programs in post-secondary educational institutions that may lead to a career in translation, interpretation, terminology or localization. Organizations will be selected to co-ordinate the awarding of scholarships to eligible students.

Increased numbers of qualified workers will have a positive impact on public and private-sector organizations. It will help them expand their own capacity and allow them to contribute more effectively to the growth of the industry.
